Our Mission
Hands Open Wide, formerly known as Children's Home Chain (CHC), was founded by Michael Hartle of Indiana, PA in 2013 when a church member returned from a mission trip to Uganda having visited Raising Up Hope for Uganda. The woman's passion for this ministry caused Mike to to join the next trip. Having witnessed the precious orphaned children, the Godly men who ran the orphanage, and the indescribable need in which Uganda's extreme-poor children live, Hands Open Wide was born.
Since 2021, Hands Open Wide has focused our efforts to support Hope Empowers Ministry in Uganda because they provide a broad range of programs aimed to empower extreme-poor children. We are intimately involved in every aspect of the Ministry, with a focus on strict and detailed accountability of donations.
